Commercial Litigation
There is no substitute for actual trial experience in business disputes. Ms. Sharp has tried more than 70 cases before judges, juries and self-regulatory organizations in business cases of every type and size. She is experienced in explaining the complexities of specialized business disputes to the jurors and judges who ultimately decide cases, and also has extensive experience arguing cases to courts of appeals.
Liz Sharp approaches her commercial litigation cases with pragmatism to achieve a satisfactory and cost-effective result for her clients. However, if a settlement cannot be reached, she is prepared to try the case and is mindful of creating and preserving a record, should an appeal be necessary.
Liz Sharp's litigation experience includes:
- Suits for breach of contract, misrepresentations and fraud in business transactions;
- Breaches of fiduciary duties by persons in positions of trust;
- Disputes over non-compete clauses, or actions for tortious interference with contract where a third party hinders or prevents performance of an agreement;
- Debt collection and pierce-the-corporate-veil cases arising from breach of contract, promissory notes, guaranty agreements or mortgages; and
- Securities law violations both in federal courts and before self-regulatory organizations.
